FDP Chair Terrie Rizzo on Donald Trump's Executive Order

Today, FDP Chair Terrie Rizzo released the following statement on Donald Trump’s executive order:

“Today, young children are still being separated from their families, and held in internment camps in South Florida — and we still don’t know what the future holds for them. Donald Trump gets no credit for temporarily ending the cruel, inhumane, and racist policy that separated thousands of children, as young as infants, from their parents at the border. Donald Trump has blatantly lied to the American people, saying he couldn’t sign an executive order to end it, and blaming Democrats for a law that doesn’t and never existed.

“In the wake of this humanitarian crisis, Rick Scott, Adam Putnam, and Republican leaders had the chance time and again to stand up to Trump and do the right thing, but every single time, Scott and Republicans refused. Scott continues to show that if elected to Congress, he can’t be trusted as he’ll always put his own politics ahead of Floridians and be a pawn for Donald Trump.”
