For Republican Senate Field, Another Day Brings Another Ethics Complaint

Adam Hasner Hit with Ethics Complaint Over Financial Disclosure Forms, Joins LeMieux and Haridopolos With Ethical Baggage

If this sounds familiar, it’s because there’s a trend here: this weekend yet another Republican running for the United States Senate was hit with an ethics complaint. This time former House Majority Leader Adam Hasner is coming under fire for “not filing a required personal financial disclosure form within 60 days of his November departure from office.”

Hasner is likely to run in the Republican Senate primary against former Senator George LeMieux and State Senator Mike Haridopolos who also have their own ethical baggage, leaving Florida Republicans with a slew of flawed, corrupt candidates to choose from next year.

“What’s with this field of Senate Republican candidates? It’s almost like they are going out of their way to lock down the ‘corruption’ vote in next year’s Republican primary,” said Eric Jotkoff, spokesman for the Florida Democratic Party.  “Adam Hasner, George LeMieux, and Mike Haridopolos represent all that’s wrong with Republican corruption across Florida.  The ethical baggage each of them brings to this race shows that Floridians simply can’t trust them in any capacity, let alone in the United States Senate.”
