Today, Florida Democratic Party Chair Terrie Rizzo released the following statement on today’s cabinet meeting:

“Today’s cabinet meeting reeked of a cover-up.

“Florida Republicans self-serving, corrupt politics were on full display at today’s cabinet meeting. Instead of addressing the fact that Adam Putnam let 291 Floridians get concealed carry permits without a background check, Rick Scott, Jimmy Patronis and Pam Bondi tried to sweep the scandal under the rug. Scott, Putnam, and Patronis showed that they care more about winning re-election than protecting Floridians. The cabinet’s dereliction of duty makes clear that Republicans will always put politics over public safety.”
