Today, Florida Democratic Party Chair Allison Tant released the following statement congratulating George Sheldon on his victory in the Democratic primary for attorney general:

“I want to congratulate George Sheldon on winning the Democratic nomination for Attorney General. George’s years of public service and dedication to fighting for Florida’s middle class offers voters a clear choice for their next attorney general. A lifelong public servant, George Sheldon has fought tirelessly to strengthen the middle class, help struggling families, and protect children in foster care. As attorney general he will fight for consumers, for property owners, and for justice and civil rights for all Floridians.

“In November, Floridians will chose between a candidate who will put the middle class first every day, and a candidate with a record of putting ideology above common sense and putting special interests above the people. After Pam Bondi’s four years of misguided priorities and ideological crusades, Floridians are ready for new leadership in the attorney general’s office. We need a leader who can bring Republicans and Democrats together to fight for what’s right, and that’s just what George Sheldon will do as Florida’s next attorney general.”
