Today, the Florida Democratic Party held its reorganizational meeting to elect new statewide officers. The results are as follows:

Chair: Stephen Bittel, Miami Dade County
First Vice Chair: Judy Mount, Jackson County
Secretary: Casmore Shaw, Osceola County
Treasurer: Francesca Menes, Miami Dade County

DNC Members: Cynthia Busch, Terrie Rizzo, Nikki Barnes, Grace Carrington, Alma Gonzalez, Alan Clendenin, John Ramos, Ken Evans, Dwight Bullard and John Parker

Following today’s results, FDP Chair Stephen Bittel released the following statement:

“I am proud and honored to be elected as the chair of the Florida Democratic Party. I want to congratulate my fellow officers on their election and thank every Democrat who participated in this process and made their voice heard.

“I grew up in Florida at a time when Democrats commanded legislative majorities and I’m looking forward to putting us on the path back towards success. By working with Democrats from every part of the state, we will build a new, united party that will provide our grassroots the necessary resources to turn Florida blue from the bottom up.”
