Sunshine Vision: Florida Democratic Party Releases New Ad
The Florida Democratic Party released a new ad that highlights Mayor Rick Kriseman's bold leadership for St. Petersburg

St. Petersburg, FL - Today, the Florida Democratic Party released a new ad entitled, "Sunshine Vision."

The ad highlights Mayor Rick Kriseman's bold leadership for St. Petersburg.

Over the past four years, Mayor Kriseman has shown that he isn't afraid to tackle the big challenges facing St. Petersburg.

As mayor, Rick Kriseman has tackled climate change head-on, lowered crime and poverty significantly, and worked hard to drive economic growth in every part of St. Petersburg.

That's why Mayor Rick Kriseman was endorsed by the Suncoast Sierra Club, the Police Benevolent Association, and President Obama.

"Mayor Rick Kriseman isn't afraid to tackle the big challenges facing St. Petersburg, and his accomplishments speak for themselves. Crime and poverty are on the decline, and the city is tackling climate change head-on for the first time in its history. And unlike Rick Baker, when it comes to St. Petersburg, there's no one Mayor Kriseman won't stand up to—including Donald Trump. The Florida Democratic Party is proud to support Mayor Kriseman for re-election as he fights to move St. Petersburg forward." said Florida Democratic Party Deputy Communications Director Amir Avin.

Rick Kriseman has served as mayor of St. Petersburg since 2014. Mayor Kriseman is a bold progressive running for re-election against former two-term Republican mayor Rick Baker.

Kriseman's opponent is a longtime right-wing conservative who campaigned hard for Tea Party darling Sarah Palin, and has received tens of thousands of dollars from major  GOP mega donors  and top Trump supporters like  Rick Scott and Adam Putnam .

Mayor Kriseman has been endorsed by  President Barack Obama , U.S. Senator  Bill Nelson , and Congressman  Charlie Crist .

From Pensacola to Key West, Democrats from across the state are working to get out the vote for Mayor Rick Kriseman— making  calls and knocking doors  to mobilize progressive voters.

Major organizations like the local  Si erra Club and  the  Suncoast Police Benevolent Association  have also been working hard to reelect Mayor Kriseman.

Mayor Kriseman outperformed every public poll of the St. Pete Mayor's race when he finished first on Election Day  (despite being outspent), pulling Baker into a November runoff that looks increasingly favorable to Kriseman who will benefit from increased turnout in a hotly contested election.
