Thurman: To Commemorate September 11, 2001, Floridians Should Pause to Remember the Tragedy and Pray for the Troops

Tallahassee,
FL – Today, Florida Democratic Party Chair Karen Thurman released the
following statement commemorating the eighth anniversary of September
11, 2001:

“As
Floridians mark the eighth anniversary of the terrorist attacks on
September 11, 2001, every American should pause to remember the
thousands of innocent men, women and children who lost their lives in
one of the most horrific events in our nation’s history.

“Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with everyone who lost loved ones on that tragic day.

“On
this day, we also are honoring the heroic actions and sacrifices of
those first responders and law enforcement personnel who risked and in
many cases lost their lives as they worked to aide the innocent victims.

“Today
and everyday, we should pray for the safety of all the men and women
who are serving in our nation’s Armed Forces. The brave men and women
in uniform, who risk their lives in defense of our freedom, are true
heroes.”
