ON BUS TOUR, SPEAKER RUBIO PUSHES EXTREME POLITICAL PHILOSOPHY INSTEAD OF PROPOSALS THAT HELP EVERYDAY FLORIDIANS
Instead of focusing on Florida’s record unemployment and laying out a plan to get Florida’s economy working again for middle class families on his bus tour, former Speaker and lobbyist Marco Rubio is once again putting politics and his extreme philosophy ahead of helping middle class Floridians.  “Last week, Kendrick Meek traveled across Florida meeting with middle class families and small business owners to discuss how we can bring new jobs to Florida and pledged to continue fighting to jump start our economy,” said Eric Jotkoff, Florida Democratic Party spokesman. “This week, as Speaker Rubio jumps from one tea party rally to the next, Rubio once again is proving that he is more interested in spreading his extreme political philosophy rather than helping our state. Floridians want a leader who takes a hands-on approach to rebuilding the economy, someone who listens to the concerns of people across the Sunshine State and fights for us, not an arrogant politician like Speaker Rubio, who will force his extreme views on all of us.”
According to the tour schedule on his website, Speaker Rubio will stop at two tea party rallies, visit a Sarasota Republican meeting at a yacht club and tape a TV interview with Fox News Channel personality Sean Hannity.
In contrast, Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate Kendrick Meek embarked on a 4 day, 12 city “Jobs For Florida” tour last Tuesday. During the tour, he hosted a round table discussion with North Florida small business owners and professionals in Live Oak and another with Gainesville college students and recent graduates facing a tough job market.  In St. Lucie County, he met with trainees and staff of a green collar jobs training facility.
