Rick Scott Throws Anniversary Party to Celebrate Beginning of Medicare
As our nation marks the 44th anniversary of the implementation of Medicare today, some Floridians are celebrating more than others.  In particular, today is a significant day for disgraced executive Rick Scott, who was forced to resign as CEO of Columbia/HCA amid Medicare fraud charges, after his company systematically defrauded the government.  While Columbia/HCA was forced to pay $1.7 billion in fines, Rick Scott walked off with over $300 million.
“We wouldn’t be surprised if Rick Scott was celebrating what is clearly an important milestone in his career – the 44th anniversary of Medicare,” said Eric Jotkoff, spokesperson for the Florida Democratic Party.  “Without this very important program, which his company took advantage of, Rick Scott may have never been forced to resign and given millions of dollars from Columbia/HCA for overseeing the largest Medicare fraud in American History.”
The Florida Democratic Party is passing along what Scott’s Medicare Anniversary Party Invitation might look like (it would be a pretty spiffy affair, since he has the money to pay for it!):
