The Numbers Don’t Lie: Toxic GOP Primary Burns Scott and McCollum
As the Republican Primary for Governor comes close to the end and currently is too close to call, career politician Bill McCollum and disgraced executive Rick Scott have something in common – they are both becoming toxic in the eyes of Florida voters.
“Bill McCollum and Rick Scott have focused on nasty personal attacks instead of the issues that matter to Floridians, and this negative campaigning has exposed to Floridians just how flawed both of these politicians are.  Poll after poll clearly demonstrates that no matter which Republican is up, Floridians are down on both of them,” said Eric Jotkoff, spokesman for the Florida Democratic Party.  “No matter which candidate manages to drag himself out of this race to the bottom, it’s clear that he will have more scars in the eyes of the voters than time to rehabilitate himself.”
