Statement from the Florida Democratic Party on Rep. John Mica’s Move to Put Politics Above Jobs

Tallahassee, FL – The Associated Press is reporting Rep. John Mica, Chair of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, is at the center of the latest political grudge match out of Washington. As the AP reports, the Orlando Republican’s grandstanding over funding for the FAA is leaving thousands of workers without paychecks.

Statement from Scott Arceneaux, Executive Director of the Florida Democratic Party:

“Representative John Mica and his Tea Party colleagues have once again chosen political grandstandingover their promise to keep and create jobs. It’s a move straight out of the Rick Scott playbook, and it’s what we have come to expect from Florida Republicans – both in Tallahassee and in Washington. It’s time for the GOP to stop playing politics with Floridians’ livelihoods, stop deliberately putting Floridians out of work, and stop holding our economy hostage.”
