Statement from FLA DEMS on Election of Carmen Torres as Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee Southern Caucus

Tallahassee, FL – The Florida Democratic Party today issued the following statement in response to the election of Carmen Torres, Democratic National Committeewoman from Orlando, as the Vice Chair of the Southern Caucus for the Democratic National Committee.
 
Statement from Florida Democratic Chairman Rod Smith:

“Today, one of Florida’s own, Carmen Torres, was elected to a leadership position in the Southern Caucus of the Democratic National Committee. I have complete confidence that Carmen will provide the leadership and drive that the Democratic Party needs to re-elect President Obama, Sen. Bill Nelson and a host of other Democrats up and down the ticket in 2012. We congratulate her and are proud to stand behind her in support.”
