MIKE HARIDOPOLOS INDUCTED INTO RICKPUBLICAN HALL OF FAME
Selective Amnesia, Lies Propel Senator to Top Honor

Tallahassee, FL – The Florida Democratic Party today announced the newest addition to the Rickpublican Hall of Fame: Senate President Mike Haridopolos. Haridopolos’ selective amnesia and outright lies regarding what he knew, or didn’t know, about the GOP’s sweetheart deal with ousted GOP Chairman Jim Greer secured him the honor.

Rickpublicans are named for their misrule that puts corporations and special interests ahead of Florida’s middle class families.

“We knew it wouldn’t be long before Sen. Mike Haridopolos joined the Rickpublicans Hall of Fame and we aren’t surprised that his latest amnesic episode in Jim Greer ‘secret’ pay off saga was the catalyst,” said Florida Democratic Party Executive Director Scott Arceneaux. “Backroom dealings and outright lies are a go-to in the Florida GOP playbook. While Haridopolos might not be able to remember much, he clearly hasn’t forgotten how to avoid the truth.”

Haridopolos admitted – while testifying in a deposition – to “not telling the whole story” when it came to his knowledge of Greer’s secret settlement. Apparently, Haridopolos only admits the truth when required by law. Until appearing in court, the Rickpublican had maintained he was unaware of any special agreements with the former GOP chairman.

After more than a decade of a one-party Republican rule fueled by corruption and greed Florida has fallen behind in the critical areas of education, job creation, and the quality of life. Today, Rick Scott Republicans – Rickpublicans – continue to run amuck in government putting corporate special interests ahead of Florida’s families.
