Justice Department to monitor five Florida counties during Tuesday primary [Tampa Bay Times] “Officials with the U.S. Department of Justice will monitor today’s primaries in five Florida counties — Collier, Hendry, Lee, Osceola and Polk — to make sure that elections officials there will provide language assistance in Spanish.”

Ryan, Buchanan no strangers in Congress [Sarasota Herald Tribune] “Buchanan was also a supporter of Ryan’s proposed budget plans. In April 2011, Buchanan voted for the Ryan plan that would have would cut $5.8 trillion from the federal budget over 10 years and would have overhauled Medicare…Sarasota Democrat Keith Fitzgerald, who is challenging Buchanan for re-election, made it clear on Saturday that he’s going to use Buchanan’s support for the Ryan plan against him. In a press released to the media, Fitzgerald labeled the plan the ‘Paul Ryan-Vern Buchanan budget plan’ and said it would hurt seniors.”
