TALLAHASSEE, FL – The Florida Democratic Party today released the following statement congratulating Maria Sachs on her election victory in Senate District 34.

“We congratulate Maria Sachs on her victory tonight. Maria has been a passionate and vocal champion for the middle class families of her community, and tonight they sent her back to the Senate so she can continue to fight for them. She has run a strong campaign guided by the principals of public service which have defined her career, and will continue to be a rising star in our party.

“Tonight, the people of south Florida sent a strong message to Governor Rick Scott and the Republicans in Tallahassee. Floridians are ready to put an end to the GOP’s failed policies that have moved our state in the wrong direction in favor of a fresh approach aimed at strengthening middle class families and ending the corruption and waste in government.”
