Florida Democratic Party Requests Rick Scott and Pam Bondi Execution Correspondence

Tallahassee, FL — Today, the Florida Democratic Party filed a public records request for all correspondence by Governor Rick Scott and his senior staff regarding the rescheduling of an execution to accommodate Pam Bondi’s political fundraiser.

The public records request is for “any and all correspondence” to or from Governor Rick Scott, Attorney General Pam Bondi, and their chief aides, including Chief of Staff Adam Hollingsworth, Deputy Chief of Staff Geoffrey Becker, General Counsel Peter Antonacci, Director of Cabinet Affairs Michael Sevi, and Director of Communications Melissa Sellers regarding the execution date of Marshall Lee Gore.

“Pam Bondi has demonstrated astoundingly bad judgment, putting partisan politics ahead of the most serious duty she has as Attorney General. But we know that’s not the full story. Governor Rick Scott has refused to answer questions about his office’s involvement in this gross breach of the public trust, directing all inquiries back to Pam Bondi. It’s time the public had all the facts about this gross incident,” said FDP spokesman Joshua Karp.
