Tallahassee, FL — Today, in response to the news that former South African President Nelson Mandela has died, Florida Democratic Party Chair Allison Tant made the following statement:

“Today, South Africa has lost a remarkable leader and the world has lost an enduring source of strength, leadership, and wisdom. I express my deepest condolences to all those whose lives Nelson Mandela touched. He transformed a nation, and in so doing he transformed the world for generations to come. Nelson Mandela leaves behind a legacy as rich as the life he lived, a source of strength for the oppressed, an inspiration to all who seek to build a better world.”
