Today, the Florida Democratic Party released the following statement congratulating Benjamin DeYurre for qualifying in House District 103:

“Benjamin DeYurre offers Broward and Miami-Dade a fresh vision for the future of Florida’s 103rd House District,” said FDP Chair Allison Tant. “Over the last two years Manny Diaz, Jr. has proven himself to be a puppet of for-profit, out of state charter schools, that are syphoning off millions of taxpayer dollars from public schools. The voters of Florida’s 103rd House District are tired of Tallahassee’s broken politics and are ready for a change.”  

“It’s an honor to put my name before the voters of South Florida. I believe that it’s time for a change in Tallahassee,” said Benjamin DeYurre. “We should invest in our public schools rather than cut their funding. We should work to protect and grow the middle class rather than just rewarding those at the top. For too long the political name-calling and backbiting have stood in the way of moving our community forward, and I’m running to change that.”
