Today, the Florida Democratic Party released the following statement congratulating Maria Sachs for qualifying in Senate District 34:

“Maria has always been the voice for those who could not speak for themselves,” said FDP Chair Allison Tant. “As a prosecutor, she fought to make South Florida safer, putting the perpetrators of the worst crimes in prison. In the state senate, Maria is still focused on improving the lives of people in her community and across Florida — by growing the economy, strengthening our public education system, and keeping our neighborhoods safe.” 

“Representing the people in District 34 is an honor and privilege and I look forward to continuing to do so,” said Senator Maria Sachs. “Florida is a very diverse state with many critical needs. We have yet to fully restore the drastic budget cuts to our public schools, we need to continue working to revitalize our state’s economy, and we must ensure that health care is available and affordable for everyone. But there are some issues unique to coastal counties like Broward and Palm Beach. We face local flooding, sea-level rise, and often skyrocketing insurance rates. I look forward to discussing these and other issues important to the voters over the course of this campaign.”
