In response to the newly released recordings of Donald Trump boasting about committing sexual assault, Florida Senator Marco Rubio responded with hollow criticism but refused to withdraw his endorsement. Marco Rubio has a longstanding history of prioritizing his own career above all else, and his sustained allegiance to Trump underscores just how disgracefully far he’s willing to go for his own personal gain. 

“Marco Rubio’s blatant refusal to rescind his endorsement of Donald Trump is unconscionably harmful for victims of sexual assault everywhere who are watching their Senator cower before a man who belittles their trauma as ‘locker room’ banter,” said Florida Democratic Party Chair Allison Tant. “If Marco Rubio prioritized the safety and well being of Floridians above his own career he would have never endorsed Trump in the first place. Rubio continues to support an openly sexist, bigoted, racist, and cruel man as the next President, and in doing so, thoroughly disqualifies himself as a leader.”
