FDP Repsonds to Passing of SB 7026

FDP Chair Terrie Rizzo released the following statement after SB 7026 passed the House on Wednesday:

“This legislation does not go far enough to protect the people of Florida from gun violence. Democrats have fought throughout this process, and for the past few decades, for common sense gun legislation. SB 7026 was missing the key components of that – including banning assault weapons, universal background checks, and closing the gun show loop hole. Until we get these weapons of war off the streets we will not be able to prevent another mass shooting like we saw in Parkland and at Pulse. We will continue to fight to see that this change happens – and lawmakers have to know if they continue to choose to listen to the NRA over their constituents – they will be voted out!”
