Florida Democratic Party Responds to Dennis Ross’s Retirement Announcement

FDP Executive Director Juan Penalosa released the following statement in response to Dennis Ross electing to retire from Congress:

“Yesterday’s fifty-point Democratic Party victory in the special election for Senate District 31 and today’s retirement announcement by Republican Congressman Dennis Ross is more evidence that the Florida GOP is in disarray in the face of a well organized Democratic resistance.

“In 2018 we are operating under the premise that no Republican seat is safe. Democrats were already planning to invest in get out the vote programs to elect Democrats in rural counties like Lake and Polk and Congressman Ross’ retirement gives us even more reason to double down on our efforts.
