DeSantis Refuses to Fire Donor Who Used Trump Lawyer to Pay Off Playboy Model

Ron DeSantis is refusing to fire Elliott Broidy, who used Donald Trump’s lawyer to pay off a Playboy model he impregnated, from his national finance team.

Broidy was forced to resign in disgrace from the RNC on Friday for using Michael Cohen to pay $1.6 million in hush money to a woman he impregnated, and who subsequently had an abortion.

“Ron DeSantis is one of the last Republicans in America standing by Elliott Broidy. By keeping Broidy on his campaign, DeSantis is essentially endorsing his highly unethical and despicable behavior. Floridians need a governor who will reject the misogyny, dishonesty, and hypocrisy of Donald Trump’s Washington — not further enable it,” said Florida Democratic Party spokesperson Kevin Donohoe.

The DeSantis campaign has refused to answer inquiries from multiple media outlets about Broidy and failed to fire him from their national finance team. In contrast, Broidy resigned as the Republican National Committee’s Deputy Finance Director within hours of the Wall Street Journal report about his hush money scandal.
