“Eileen Higgins victory made it very clear that no seat is safe in Florida. Commissioner-elect Higgins advocated for her community for years, ran a substantive, issue-based campaign and was the better candidate all-around. Florida Democrats are not taking any voter for granted in 2018 – we are standing up for public education, affordable healthcare, critical protections for our environment and an economy that works for everyone of us. Democrats are winning because we are recruiting quality candidates, speaking to issues that matter and investing wisely. Today’s victory by Ms. Higgins is further evidence of a blue wave in 2018.”
