Florida Democrats Launch "DeSantisCare" Video, Website Highlighting Ron DeSantis's Record of Taking Away Floridians' Health Care

From Now Until Election Day, FDP Will Hold DeSantis Accountable for His Extreme Votes to End Medicare and Rip Away Health Care from Millions

DeSantis Has Voted to Take Away Health Care From Millions, Raise Costs for Seniors, Cut Social Security, and Kill Protections for Pre-Existing Conditions

The Florida Democratic Party today released a new website, DeSantisCare.com, and video highlighting Ron DeSantis’s long record of working to take away health care from millions of Floridians, scrap protections for pre-existing conditions, end Medicare as we know it, and raise health care costs for seniors. The site and video are part of a new campaign to hold DeSantis accountable for his extreme attacks on Floridians’ health care — and make sure Florida voters about the Republican nominee’s dangerous “DeSantisCare” policies.

If elected governor, DeSantis would bring “DeSantisCare” to Florida by refusing Medicaid expansion and denying health care coverage to 800,000 Floridians, gutting protections for pre-existing conditions, and raising health care costs.

“Ron DeSantis has consistently voted against Florida’s seniors and working families in Washington,” said FDP Chairwoman Terrie Rizzo. “Instead of putting Florida families first, DeSantis is a right-wing extremist who has voted to take away Floridians’ health care, raise health care costs, take away protections for pre-existing conditions, and destroy Medicare. DeSantis failed to stand up for Floridians in Washington — so why would we want to give him a promotion?”

Poll after poll has shown that health care is a top issue for Florida voters. A Politico/AARP poll conducted earlier this summer showed that ore than 3 in 4 voters said health care would be a central issue when deciding their vote. ⅔ of Floridians disapproved of how the Republican-controlled Congress is handling health care.
