Florida Democratic State Committee Approves DNC Delegate Selection Process

Today, Thursday, June 13, 2019, The Florida Democratic Party announced that the State Executive Committee has approved the 2020 Delegate Selection Plan for Florida. The plan was approved by the committee on Sunday, June 9, 2019, during its annual Leadership Blue weekend.

Florida will have 248 delegates and 18 alternate at the 2020 Democratic National Convention. Florida will be using a proportional representation system based on the results of the primary in apportioning its delegates to the 2020 Democratic National Convention. This is the same process that was used in the 2016 Delegate Selection Plan. The first determining step of the delegate selection process will occur on Tuesday, March 17, 2020, with Florida’s Presidential Primary Primary.
