The Florida Democratic Party announced Monday a first of its kind municipal campaign system: Campaign Blueprint. The digital system includes training videos, a new campaign plan generator, campaign materials — all the tools candidates will need to get their campaign off the ground.
This digital toolkit will assist an army of Democratic candidates. Terrie Rizzo, chair of the Florida Democratic Party, called Campaign Blueprint a “game-changer” for the Florida Democratic Party.
“When more Democrats run in the Sunshine State, more Democrats win and nowhere is this more evident than in municipal races,” Rizzo said. “FDP’s Campaign Blueprint helps Democrats, who may be new to running for office, plan out their campaign, and assist them with organizing an efficient, well-run campaign. With Campaign Blueprint, our municipal candidates will be stronger than ever — it’s a game-changer.”
The new system is spearheaded by Lisa Peth, the party’s Municipal Victory Program director, who is combining Campaign Blueprint’s digital tools with candidate trainings across the state.
Campaign Blueprint includes an automated campaign plan generator, which is one of the most critical elements of the system. The online tool will walk candidates through a self-guided process to input information about their campaign, their values and their district and the generator will design a plan to serve as a roadmap to achieve the goal of winning their election.
“We’ve coupled technology with the best minds in Democratic campaigns to develop an innovative approach to preparing candidates to win,” Peth said. “Campaign Blueprint will provide a candidate with a unique plan that includes all the basics — a win number, field timeline, voter contact plan and recommendations for finance, political and communications plans — as well as guided training in the key aspects of running a winning campaign. Campaign Blueprint will allow candidates and campaigns to maximize resources to win. “
Campaign Blueprint organizes a dynamic online toolkit of campaign resources that provides the information and tools needed to help first-time candidates build and execute their campaign plans. The toolbox includes videos, documents, worksheets, and guides covering the following topics:
As a part of Campaign Blueprint, the Florida Democratic Party is partnering with the National Democratic Training Committee and a team of in-state seasoned campaign professionals to facilitate a series of regional candidate training events across the state in preparation for the 2020 election cycle. Topics covered will include fundraising, digital, communications and field tactics. The first three trainings will be held in Destin, Jacksonville, and Tampa.
