On National Voter Registration Day, Florida Democrats participated in voter registration drives, and held events throughout the day to register new voters, with more planned for this evening.

In honor of National Voter Registration Day, the Florida Democratic Party committed to registering over 1,000 voters Tuesday. With events still going on, the party has already registered hundreds of Floridians.

Juan Peñalosa, executive director of the Florida Democratic Party, stated:

“The Florida Democratic Party has been working for months to put into place the infrastructure needed to organize large scale voter registration efforts. Today, we are seeing that organizing pay off. National Voter Registration Day is an important day in a year-round effort to register voters and ensure American citizen has the opportunity to take part in our democracy.”
