Florida Democratic Party Statement on President Biden Hosting Worker Organizers at White House
Earlier today, President Biden, Vice President Harris, and Labor Secretary Marty Walsh welcomed a group of grassroots worker organizers at Amazon, Starbucks, REI, and other companies to the White House to recognize their efforts to bring workers together, hold wealthy corporations accountable, and make billionaire CEOs pay their fair share.
This White House visit follows a number of recent labor organizing victories across the country, including an historic victory for Starbucks workers in Tallahassee, who voted overwhelmingly on Tuesday to form the first union at the coffee chain in the state of Florida.
“As President Biden made clear, these workers and organizers are leading the way and inspiring other workers nationwide. Workers standing together – in union – built the middle class in this country, and Democrats stand in solidarity with the workers who are fighting for better wages and benefits and dignity and respect on the job,” said Florida Democratic Party spokesperson Travis Reuther.
