Florida Democrats Celebrate Labor Day

Chair Nikki Fried vows to defend working class Floridians against Ron’s anti-worker agenda

In recognition of Labor Day, the Florida Democratic Party has issued the following statement:

“We give thanks to unions across Florida for their endless pursuit of fair and just treatment for workers,” said FDP Chair Nikki Fried. “Their hard work is under continued attack by Ron and his Republican supermajority, who have worked to dismantle unions and make it more difficult for workers to organize for fair wages and good benefits.

“Just last year, the Florida Legislature passed SB 256, a bill designed to bust public employee unions such as teachers’ unions and state worker unions — a direct attack on the working class. As we approach next year’s elections, Florida Democrats vow to defend Floridians against Ron’s continued anti-worker agenda by electing pro-worker, pro-union leaders who will bring the fight to Tallahassee.

“It’s also critically important that we work to re-elect President Biden — the most pro-worker, pro-union president in history — to finish the job he started: ending the era of failed trickle-down economic policies and rebuilding an economy that works for everyone.”
