Florida Democrats Showcase Momentum, Strategy, and Grassroots Energy at Leadership Blue 2025

More than 1,000 Democrats from across Florida gathered at the Seminole Hard Rock last weekend for the Florida Democratic Party’s 2025 Leadership Blue, with another 1,000 tuning in virtually for the opening night livestream—making it one of the largest and most energized events in recent party history.

Headliners included U.S. Senator Cory Booker and Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, both of whom delivered powerful messages about what’s possible when Democrats stay rooted in values and committed to people-first leadership—even in the toughest political climates.

Florida Democratic Party Chair Nikki Fried unveiled Pendulum, a new year-round organizing program, making Florida the fourth state party to invest in year-round organizing. The program will focus on re-enrolling vote-by-mail voters, registering new Democrats, and recruiting local candidates statewide.

Since the 2024 elections, the party has seen a 200% increase in Floridians looking to run for office. Trainings like “Recruiting Strong Candidates for Office” were among the most popular sessions of the weekend, signaling a growing appetite for bold, homegrown leadership.

This year’s conference also spotlighted a generational shift in political engagement, with young leaders and digital creators stepping up to shape the conversation. A live-streamed podcast hosted by Sam Schwartz and Aaron Parnas expanded the event’s reach and brought fresh energy to the weekend’s lineup.

With a renewed focus on grassroots organizing, digital engagement, and community-driven leadership, Florida Democrats are entering the next chapter of the movement with ambitious goals, and momentum on their side.
