As Vice President Pence prepares to visit Central Florida this week for his “Latinos for Trump” event, the Florida Democratic Party launched a Latino Voter Registration Canvass at the Sol de Borinquen Bakery with State Representative John Cortes. Volunteers learned how to register voters and then spent the afternoon canvassing high-traffic areas —such as the Unidos Grocery Story and the Hart Memorial Library— in Osceola County, a county with one of the largest Puerto Rican population in the state. Trump and Republicans have broken countless promises to Latinos across Florida — from working to gut their health care to raising taxes on working families.

The Florida Democratic Party (FDP) is working with Latinos statewide to spread the word about Trump’s destructive Latino agenda. Just last week, DNC Chair Tom Perez hosted a Latino Health Care Roundtable in Miami, denouncing Trump’s efforts to overturn the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Trump’s attacks on healthcare would impact around four million Latino adults and 600,000 Latino kids in the United States who gained access to coverage through the ACA.

As a response to these attacks, the Florida Democratic Party launched the petition Latinos Against Trump!, an effort to collect stories of community members impacted by Trump’s policies on healthcare. The petition is also available in Spanish.
