Today, Florida Democratic Party Chair Terrie Rizzo released the following statement:

“Dr. Ford’s powerful, emotionally wrenching testimony yesterday was a tremendous act of personal courage and service to this country. The Florida Democratic Party believes Dr. Ford — and we are dismayed that Republicans like Ron DeSantis are still supporting Brett Kavanaugh, a man accused of sexual assault whose testimony yesterday before the Senate Judiciary Committee was disgraceful.

“DeSantis has made the appointment of justices to the Florida Supreme Court central to his campaign. By backing Kavanaugh, DeSantis is making clear that he would have no problem appointing a man accused of attempted sexual assault to the Florida Supreme Court. That’s despicable.”
