On October 10, the Miami Herald reported that two Republican fundraisers with connections to Governor Ron DeSantis, Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman, have been arrested on campaign finance charges. According to the Miami Herald, DeSantis received $50,000 from the pair by way of a company called Global Energy Producers.

Terrie Rizzo, chair of the Florida Democratic Party, slammed DeSantis and demanded he donate the $50,000 to charity:

“The stench of Governor Ron DeSantis’ dirty money grows more foul with each passing day. From lobbyists paying tens of thousands of dollars to dine or play golf with DeSantis, to taking money from Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman, it is alarming how he conducts himself. DeSantis should take the $50,000 in donations he received from Parnas and Fruman and donate it to charity immediately.”
