Following reports Thursday that Ross Spano is under criminal investigation for campaign finance violations, Florida Democratic Party Chair Terrie Rizzo released the following statement, calling for his resignation from Congress:

“Ross Spano knew what he was doing when he illegally accepted money from his friends. He broke the law to get elected to Congress. Floridians deserve better. Spano should immediately step down from his seat, and if he doesn’t, he can be sure we will send him to an early retirement next year.”
