Republicans Hold Tea Parties Rather Than Offer Solutions To Jumpstart Economy

NEWS FROM THE FLORIDA DEMOCRATIC PARTYFor Immediate Release: April 15, 2009Tallahassee, FL – Reacting to the rightwing Republicans’ so called ‘Tea Parties’ today, Florida Democratic Party spokesman Eric Jotkoff issued the following statement:”At a time when Floridians are looking for strong leadership and real solutions to create jobs and jumpstart Florida’s economy, Republicans have no new ideas to deal with current economic crisis. “While rightwing Republicans are sipping tea, eating crumpets, and demanding more of the same discredited economic polices of the past, the rest of America is supporting President Obama and his agenda for change.”Floridians know that Democrats, led by President Obama, are working to provide middle class tax relief and making key investments in health care, energy and education that are designed to jumpstart our economy and create jobs.”While the people promoting and organizing these events are the same small, vocal minority inspired by the Republican leaders like Rush Limbaugh and Karl Rove, the vast majority of Floridians support the President’s efforts to turn around the sputtering economy his Administration inherited.”Rather than protesting President Obama’s tax cuts for 95% of Americans, the rightwing Republicans should put down their tea bags and join the rest of Florida in protesting the Republican leaders in Tallahassee raising taxes on Florida’s families while rejecting billions of dollars from President Obama’s recovery plan.”-###-
