Rick Scott Must Immediately Clarify “Birther” Comment for Floridians
At a campaign stop yesterday in The Villages, disgraced executive Rick Scott was asked what he would do regarding President Obama’s “birth certificate” and whether or not the President could legally appear on the election ballot in Florida in 2012.  Scott responded by saying “I’ll have to look into it.” (Orlando Sentinel Blog, 7/22/10)
“Rick Scott, a discredited executive, may be willing to believe a discredited rumor about the citizenship of President Obama,” said Eric Jotkoff, spokesperson for the Florida Democratic Party. “Scott needs to immediately clarify whether or not he believes the President was born in the United States. The fact that President Obama is a natural born of our nation is irrefutable. Rick Scott’s vague response to this ‘birther’ rumor is outrageous and only another sign that Scott does not share the values or priorities of our state.”
