Florida Democrats Enthusiastically Back Kendrick Meek for U.S. Senate
Chair Thurman: “Kendrick is the Strong Nominee Our Party Needs in November.”
Tonight, Florida Democrats spoke and loud and clear and nominated a committed Democrat and tested and tireless fighter for the middle class and working families. Kendrick Meek’s come-from-behind grassroots campaign has shown that despite being outspent 7 to 1 by a billionaire, his record of standing with the middle class against the special interests is something voters readily embrace.
“Kendrick is the strong nominee our party needs in November,” said Florida Democratic Party Chair Karen Thurman. “He is the only Real Democrat in this race against not one, but two lifelong conservatives who have consistently stood against the middle class. We congratulate him on last night’s victory, and look forward to helping him win in November.”
Kendrick will be the only Real Democrat on the ballot in November. The election provides a stark contrast between a committed Democrat who has always worked hard on behalf of the middle class and two lifelong Republican opponents. Kendrick is the only candidate who:

Despite being outspent 7 to 1, Kendrick proved the pundits wrong and will be a force to be reckoned with come November. He recently crisscrossed the state on his ‘Real Dem Express’ bus tour, visiting over 40 cities in 10 days. To date, he has visited over 50 counties across the state and became the first statewide candidate in Florida history to qualify for the ballot by submitting over 140,000 petitions. The people of Florida are the fuel behind his campaign.
Florida Democrats overwhelmingly and enthusiastically support Kendrick Meek as the Real Democrat in this race. In 70 days, Kendrick will again prove the pundits wrong once again when he becomes Florida’s next U.S. Senator.
