Thurman Congratulates Gelber On Attorney General Nomination
Florida Democratic Party Chairwoman Karen Thurman released the following statement congratulating Sen. Dan Gelber on winning the Democratic Nomination for Attorney General: “The Florida Democratic Party congratulates Dan Gelber and is proud to support him as our Democratic candidate for Attorney General.
“This election cycle is about bringing accountability and new leadership to Tallahassee. Too many Floridians are left behind and left out because of the overzealous agenda pushed by the far right wing of the Republican Party. And it’s time Floridians have a government that is looking out for them and not the special interests.
“While Pam Bondi is already giving a wink-and-nod to the most powerful special interests, Dan Gelber will be fighting for consumers and against the excesses that have overwhelmed our state government. A former top federal prosecutor, Dan Gelber will refocus the office on its primary mission of consumer protection.
“Additionally, I would like to thank Sen. Dave Aronberg for his leadership for Florida, commitment to fighting for middle class families, and the service he has provided to our state. On behalf of all Floridians, we wish him luck as he moves onto other avenues of service and know he has a bright future.”
