Florida Democrats Launch “Not Paid for by Jon Huntsman” Video Highlighting His Support For Ending Medicare As We Know It

“Since kicking off his campaign, Jon Huntsman has transformed himself from a moderate Governor of Utah and a member of President Obama’s administration into just another in a string of Republican candidates who are pandering to the right-wing of their base. He has switched his positions on health care, cap-and-trade, and the Recovery Act,” said Florida Democratic Party Chairman Rod Smith. “But Floridians are most disappointed in Huntsman’s support for Paul Ryan’s plan to balance the budget on the back of seniors by ending Medicare as we know it.”

Yesterday, the Florida Democratic Party hosted a call with Floridians which highlighted how Jon Huntsman’s support to end Medicare as we know it will adversely affect Floridians.

In May, Huntsman told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos that he would have voted for the Paul Ryan budget plan if given the chance; he went on to specify that he would have supported the Medicare provisions.
