Statement from FLA DEMS on Presidential Primary Date Selection Committee’s Announcement of New Primary Date

Tallahassee, FL – The Florida Democratic Party today issued the following statement in response to the Presidential Primary Date Selection Committee’s announcement of January 31st as Florida’s new primary date.

Statement from Florida Democratic Party Chairman Rod Smith:

“Once again, Republicans in Florida have shown a total disregard for bipartisanship and following the rules of the road. Today’s decision is a slap in the face to their own party and the bipartisan rules agreed upon over a year ago to ensure an orderly primary process.”
