FLA Dems Statement on the Senate’s Upcoming Vote on the American Jobs Act

Tallahassee, FL—With the United States Senate set to vote on the American Jobs Act today, Florida Democratic PartyChairman Rod Smith released the following statement:

“Today’s vote in the Senate is a critical step toward getting more Americans working and putting more money back into the pockets of middle class families and smallbusinesses: I urge the Senate to support this important legislation,” said Chairman Smith. “For Floridians looking for work, for parents who want more teachers in the classrooms, and for families who know safer communities mean more police and firefighters on the job, there is no time for delay.”

Smith continued, “The American people have sent a message to Washington: it’s time for Congress to vote for what’s best for the country, not their political party. Republicans in the Senate, like Marco Rubio, should vote for this legislation, and the Republican-led House of Representatives should follow the lead of the Senate and vote on the American Jobs Act. It’s time for Republicans in Washington and the GOP presidential candidates to support this important legislation that will help middle class families and our economy.”
