Today, the Florida Democratic Party joins all Americans in honoring our brave veterans – those who are serving, those who have served and those who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom. Words can’t describe the gratitude we owe each of you. While we honor our brave men and women, we know that the sacrifice for our freedom was not borne alone. To the families who have spent long months without loved ones, to the families who have lost those they love, we are forever indebted for your sacrifice that has preserved our freedom. While this day is, and always will be, about honoring the service and sacrifice of so many, this year we also look forward anxiously to welcoming home thousands of troops from Iraq in time for the holidays. To every soldier, sailor, airman and marine we offer an inadequate “thank you” and our heartfelt prayers for you, your family and your safe return.
