Tallahassee, FL –  With Mitt Romney attending fundraising events throughout South Florida, Florida Democratic Party spokeswoman Brannon Jordan today released the following statement:

“Mitt Romney is in Florida today and we would like to ask Mr. Romney why he believes he plays by a separate set of rules then the rest of us?

“Romney’s limited and insufficient tax releases defy precedent set by presidential candidates. Even his father released 12 years of tax returns, President Bush released returns back to 1991, and President Obama released eight years of tax returns during the 2008 campaign. Could Romney be withholding multiple years of returns because he fears they will further weaken the central premise of his candidacy? We’ll never know, because Mitt refuses to be honest with Americans.

“Romney kept his tax returns from the eyes of the American people and it’s time he leveled with all of us and came clean. The President and Vice President both released their tax returns on Friday, and it’s no surprise that we are still waiting to see Romney’s mysterious returns.

“As Romney travels the state fundraising Floridians deserve to know, what’s Mitt hiding?”
