There are no words to truly express the debt of gratitude we owe these Americans who have made the ultimate sacrifice to defend the values of our nation and the freedoms we all hold dear. But we can honor these heroes by renewing and redoubling our commitment to our active service members and veterans — ensuring that every member of our armed forces has the utmost preparation, protection, healthcare, and economic opportunity once they return home. Let us today, on this Memorial Day, re-affirm this promise to these Americans who have given so much of themselves for us.
