As Romney Arrives in Florida, FL Dems Release New Video Highlighting How Romney's Policies Will Hurt Middle Class Families

TALLAHASSEE, FL — As Mitt Romney arrives in the Florida, the Florida Democratic Party today released a new video highlighting how Romney’s policies will hurt middle class families: raising taxes by an average of $2,000 on florida families with children according to the Tax Policy Center, slashing vital education programs like Pell Grants and supporting a plan that would turn Medicare into a voucher system which would raise the cost of healthcare for seniors — all so Romney can pay for his tax giveaways to millionaires and billionaires.

“Instead of cutting taxes for the middle class, Mitt Romney would raise taxes on Florida’s families by an average of $2,000 a year so he can give handouts to billionaires and millionaires,” said Brannon Jordan, spokeswoman for the Florida Democratic Party. “And even worse, the Romney-Ryan plan slashes the programs that middle class families rely on — from cutting Pell Grants and work study positions for students, to turning Medicare into a voucher system which would raise the cost of healthcare for seniors by thousands. These are the same failed, Bush-era policies that will hurt our economy, hurt our seniors and students, and hurt Florida’s middle class families.”
