FL Dems Announce Mayor Julian Castro as 2013 Jefferson Jackson Keynote Speaker

I am thrilled to announce that Julian Castro, Mayor of San Antonio and star of the 2012 DNC, will be the keynote speaker at our 2013 Jefferson-Jackson Gala in Hollywood, FL.

Mayor Castro debuted on the national scene last year with a tremendous keynote speech delivered to the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte and is seen by many a rising star of the Democratic Party.

On June 15th, Mayor Castro will join U.S. Senator Bill Nelson and DNC National Chair, our own Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Shultz together with Democrats from across the great state of Florida at our largest annual gathering

The son of community activists, Julian Castro’s commitment to public service runs deep. After earning a degree from Stanford and his JD from Harvard Law School, he returned to Texas. In 2001 he became the youngest city councilman in San Antonio history, and in 2009 was elected Mayor.

We are truly excited and honored that Mayor Castro will be delivering the keynote address at this year’s Jefferson-Jackson Dinner. He is a proven, strong leader and advocate for San Antonio’s middle class and has a bright future ahead of him.

I hope you’ll join me, Mayor Castro, and top Florida Democrats from across the state on June 15th.
