ZERO: Scott Administration Claims Not a Single Email Sent or Received on LG Search

Tallahassee, FL – The Scott Administration states that not a single piece of correspondence had been sent to or from the individual tasked with the search for a new lieutenant governor, Scott’s Chief of Staff Adam Hollingsworth, or Scott’s General Counsel Peter Antonacci. After three and a half months it is absolutely shocking to learn that not a single email has been exchanged at the highest levels of the Scott Administration in the search to replace our state’s second highest ranking constitutional officer.

On June 5th, the Florida Democratic Party filed a public records request with the Governor’s Office seeking any correspondence (including emails and letters) to or from either Adam Hollingsworth or Peter Antonacci regarding the search for and selection of a new lieutenant governor. As was previously reported, Hollingsworth was directed to oversee the search. On Friday, June 28th, the Governor’s Office responded, saying that “no records responsive to your request were produced” after two searches of their database.

It’s one thing for the Scott Administration to say they are taking their time searching for a new Lieutenant Governor — but it’s altogether another for Rick Scott’s senior staff to have failed to even discuss this issue once in any correspondence.
