In just 24 hours, over 6,000 concerned people have signed our petition calling on the Florida GOP and Chairman Lenny Curry to apologize for his and his organization’s repeated sexist remarks. And the number of signers continues to climb.
After spending the first few days in confused disarray when Chairwoman Tant challenged them on their controversial remarks, Florida Republicans have now closed ranks. They have withheld all comment on the Florida Federation of Young Republican’s statement that “These women are pathetic.” That is a strategy for political damage control, not an apology. That is unacceptable.
The Republican Party of Florida needs to apologize immediately for their remarks and for beginning this awful trend in the Florida GOP. Over 6,000 people are waiting.
