Today in South Florida, Governor Scott is skipping a deposition to attend a high-end, closed press fundraiser with Marco Rubio and Jeb Bush. Meanwhile, Charlie Crist, the People’s Governor is crisscrossing South Florida meeting with area residents and supporters to discuss what is at stake for them in this election.
Florida House Democratic Leader Designate Mark Pafford issued the following statement:
“How Governors Scott and Crist are conducting themselves today really encapsulates what this election is all about. Charlie Crist is tirelessly connecting with voters one-on-one across South Florida while Rick Scott is evading a deposition and rubbing elbows with Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio, who share his far right agenda that would hurt Floridians.
“Scott, Rubio and Bush simply don’t stand with seniors or working Floridians. While Rick Scott made millions overseeing what was the largest Medicare fraud case in the nation’s history at the time, Marco Rubio and Jeb Bush supported a radical plan that would end Medicare as we know it by turning it into a voucher system. Rick Scott said the thought of raising the minimum wage made him ‘cringe’ while Marco Rubio helped block a minimum wage increase and Jeb Bush refuses to stand up and support recent proposals to raise the minimum wage. With beliefs like that, it’s no wonder this trio would rather hang out at a fundraiser than speak with South Florida voters.”
